The Garden Guide

Everything you need to grow your swarm — from a humble hive to a golden apiary.

Welcome to the garden

A contemplative idle game inspired by flower gardens and apiaries.

Bee Garden is an idle game: it keeps running while you're away. Your bees grow, forage, multiply and their honey ships out — even when the app is closed.

Your role is twofold:

  • Active — activate the flowers, trigger Frenzies, spend hexagons on upgrades, manage research, catch kittens.
  • Passive — let the hive produce, come back to collect, contemplate.

You can play in short or long sessions, depending on your mood. Progress is never lost.

The spirit of the game: Bee Garden rewards consistency more than intensity. Five minutes in the morning, ten in the evening, and your hive evolves without pressure.

The hive loop

A handful of gestures that chain on forever.

  1. Forage — tap the hive to activate the flowers. The bees swarm to them: this is the Frenzy.
  2. GrowBrood Growth continuously adds new bees, whether you tap or not.
  3. Ship — finished honey leaves through the shipping lanes, loaded onto trucks, on its way to markets.
  4. Earn — every delivery brings in hexagons, which fund the upgrades.
  5. Switch variety — when the Hive Value reaches a threshold, a new honey variety unlocks. You can then evolve your stock: the new variety becomes active and the value of every shipped truckload increases — often by several orders of magnitude.

This loop repeats at several time scales: seconds (the Frenzy), minutes (growth), hours (variety switch).

The progression engine: switching variety is what takes a truckload's value from a few hexagons to billions. It's the single most structuring event of your run — each variety opens a new economic tier.

The 3-stage pipeline

Hive → Foraging → Shipping. Everything rests on balancing the three.

Stage 1

Hive

Your adult bees live here. Hive capacity caps their number. Brood growth makes them appear by the edge.

Stage 2

Foraging

Each bee forages continuously. The rate depends on population, research and bonuses.

Stage 3

Shipping

The honey leaves through shipping lanes. Each truck placed on a lane has a maximum capacity per minute.

The production formula is simple:

Honey/sec = Population × Forage rate × Research multipliers

And the golden rule: if shipping capacity is lower than honey production, honey piles up without leaving. That's a bottleneck (see dedicated section).

Shipping vehicles

11 trucks, 17 lanes — the pipeline's exit.

Honey leaves the hive through the shipping lanes. The swarm loads the honey at the loading zone and the trucks drive off on their expeditions. Each lane fits one vehicle, and each vehicle has a capacity (loads/min). You start with 4 lanes; you can unlock up to 17 through Hive Research.

Economy & currencies

Four currencies, each with its purpose.

Hexagons Hexagons

Soft currency. Earned from shipping. Used to buy hives, trucks and Hive Research.

Pollen Pollen

Premium currency. Used for boosts and Permanent Research. Earned for free from kittens, gifts and challenges.

Royal Jelly Drops Royal Jelly Drops

Earned through the Coronation. Each Royal Jelly Drop Drop increases the Royal Bonus, a permanent multiplier on all earnings.

Moon Nectar Moon Nectar

Very rare. Multiplies the Royal Jelly Drops Drops' bonus in a compounded way: each drop of Moon Nectar Moon Nectar grows the effect of all the others. Earned through the calendar and a few special sources.

What to spend, and when?

  • Hexagons Hexagons — always. Hexagons are useless in the bank; invest as much as you can.
  • Pollen Pollen — first, Permanent Research (Sacred Nectar, Coronation Bonus, Moon Nectar Bonus), then boosts.
  • Royal Jelly Drops Royal Jelly Drops — applied automatically through the Royal Bonus, nothing to spend.
  • Moon Nectar Moon Nectar — never spent. It accumulates and boosts passively.

Reading big numbers

K, M, B, T, q, Q, s, S, o, N… the suffix code.

Like every idle game, Bee Garden handles absurdly large numbers. The game uses a suffix notation where each letter represents three more zeros. Lowercase and uppercase suffixes are distinct — watch out.

SuffixNameValueExample
Kthousand1031 K = 1,000
Mmillion1061 M = 1,000,000
Bbillion1091 B = 1,000 M
Ttrillion10121 T = 1,000 B
qquadrillion1015lowercase q
Qquintillion1018uppercase Q
ssextillion1021lowercase s
Sseptillion1024uppercase S
ooctillion1027
Nnonillion1030
ddecillion1033
Uundecillion1036

sd / Sdsex- / septendecillion1051 / 1054
Od / Ndocto- / novemdecillion1057 / 1060
Vvigintillion1063
Mind the case: 1 q1 Q. The quintillion (Q) is 1,000 times the quadrillion (q). Same rule for s/S.

Orders of magnitude

To compare two very distant numbers, we talk about orders of magnitude — i.e. powers of 10. "3 orders = ×1,000", "6 orders = ×1,000,000". This is the reference unit when comparing two Royal Bonuses or two earnings curves.

Hive Research

13 levels, 56 items, 2,330 ranks to unlock — funded with Hexagons hexagons.

Hive Research is the temporary tree: everything is reset on each variety switch. Higher levels unlock based on the total number of researches performed (all items combined).

The researches that change everything

  • Clear Skies (Level 1) — +500% forage rate at max.
  • Enriched Pollen (Level 1) — +1,000% honey value at max.
  • Bigger Combs (Level 2) — ×2 instant value (1 rank only, prioritize).
  • Premium Certification (Level 4) — ×3 instant value.
  • Waggle Dance (Level 3) and Summer Bloom (Level 5) — unlock shipping lanes 5 to 8.
  • Improved Genetics (Level 5) — +450% on both forage rate AND value (the double dip).
Strategy: additive multipliers from different levels compose multiplicatively with each other. +100% Level 1 and +100% Level 3 is not +200% but +300% (×4). Always diversify.

Permanent Research

22 items funded with Pollen Pollen. Acquired forever.

Unlike Hive Research, Permanent Research never resets. It's funded with Pollen Pollen and represents the long-term investment.

The most powerful researches

  1. Sacred Nectar — 140 levels, +1% Royal Bonus per Royal Jelly Drop Drop at every level (up to +150% per Royal Jelly Drop Drop).
  2. Moon Nectar Bonus — 5 levels, +1% per drop of Moon Nectar Moon Nectar (compounded effect).
  3. Coronation Bonus — 20 levels, +10% Royal Jelly Drops Royal Jelly Drops earned at every Coronation (up to +200%).

Researches worth aiming for early

  • Epic Hatchery / Epic Brood — speed up brood growth (×2 at max).
  • Frugal Contractors / Art of Beekeeping / Improved Lab — −50% on hives, trucks and research.
  • Sensitive Frenzy / Amplified Frenzy — boost the active Frenzy.
  • Comfortable Hives — +5% forage rate per level (up to +100%).
  • Reserve Capacity — +6 min per reserve (×3 the offline time at max).
  • Nocturnal Instinct — +200% offline brood growth.

The Frenzy

The active bonus. The difference between 1× and 500×.

When you tap the hive to activate the flowers, the bees present swarm to them. Each bee visibly drawn to the blooms gives a multiplier bonus on the shipped truckload value. That's the Frenzy.

The simplified formula:

Bonus = min(visible_bees × 0.001 × SensitiveFrenzy, cap)
cap   = 4 × (1 + 2.0 × AmplifiedFrenzy_level)

What to remember

  • The Frenzy multiplies shipping earnings, not the forage rate.
  • The more bees in motion you have, the higher the bonus climbs. Tip: don't fully fill the hives — bees move more when there's room left.
  • The Frenzy is zero offline. That's what creates the gap between active and idle (typically 100× to 500×).
  • The Auto Foragers (boosts) activate the flowers automatically and keep the Frenzy going without tapping.
The silent rule: the game runs idle, but rewards active sessions massively. The Frenzy is the signature of moments when the phone is in your hand.

Boosts & multipliers

Five families, to combine with judgment.

Brood Prisms

Multiply brood growth. From the Brood Prism ×10 (50 Pollen Pollen, 10 min) to the Supreme Prism ×1,000 (30,000 Pollen Pollen, 1 h).

Boost Beacons

Multiply other active boosts running at the same time. The Legendary Beacon ×50 (50,000 Pollen Pollen, 10 min) is used to amplify a complete setup.

Nectar

Multiply honey earnings. The Best Nectar ×50 (2,500 Pollen Pollen, 10 min) is a combo classic.

Royal Jelly Drops Royal Jelly Beacons

Multiply Royal Jelly Drops Royal Jelly Drops earned at the Coronation. The Legendary Royal Jelly Drops Royal Jelly Beacon ×500 (10,000 Pollen Pollen, 10 min) is essential for any optimized run.

Auto Foragers

  • Auto Forager — 10 Pollen Pollen, 10 min: flowers activated every 3 s.
  • Premium Forager — 1,000 Pollen Pollen, 10 min: Frenzy maxed instantly, no nectar consumption.
Buying tip: buying in bundles of 5 gives −20% off the unit price.

Bottlenecks

Spotting where it jams and unblocking production.

A bottleneck happens when one stage of the pipeline is slower than the one before it. The surplus piles up without earning. Knowing where it jams is the skill of a good idle player.

Bottleneck #1 — Hive capacity

Symptom: hives are full, brood growth doesn't generate any more bees.
Solution: upgrade a hive (T+1), buy Hive Renovation or Microlux Cells in research.

Bottleneck #2 — Shipping capacity

Symptom: the "honey pending" gauge is red, bees forage faster than the lanes can ship.
Solution: upgrade the trucks on the slowest lanes, unlock an extra shipping lane through research, unlock Flexible Cord or Carriers' Discipline.

Bottleneck #3 — Hexagons Hexagons in the bank

Symptom: tons of Hexagons piling up but nothing to buy at this level.
Solution: upgrade the hive tier, or wait for the next variety to multiply honey value tenfold.

Bottleneck #4 — Nectar reserves

Symptom: reserves drain during your absence and everything stops.
Solution: build an extra reserve, max out the Reserve Capacity permanent research.

Bottleneck #5 — Brood growth

Symptom: the hive fills up too slowly after a variety switch.
Solution: Brood Growth, Improved Brood, AI Hatcheries, Neural Link researches; activate a Brood Prism.

Pipeline law: your real speed = the speed of the weakest link. Don't over-engineer foraging if shipping can't keep up — it's wasted.

Offline mode

The game keeps going. But how, exactly?

When you close the app, the game does not simulate in real time. It computes retroactively, on your return, what happened during your absence — using a known formula:

Offline earnings = Online rate × Reserve quality × Absence duration

What runs offline

  • Brood growth (with the Nocturnal Instinct ×3 bonus)
  • Honey foraging
  • Shipping
  • Boost timers (yes, they burn anyway)

What does NOT run offline

  • Frenzy — at zero, that's the whole active/idle gap.
  • Kittens — only appear while the game is open.

Nectar reserves

Reserves are your absence reservoir. Each reserve built adds time during which the hive keeps producing while you're away. When they're empty, everything stops. The Reserve Capacity permanent research extends each reserve's duration up to 3 times.

Coming back to the garden

On your return, a modal shows the earnings accumulated during your absence and offers to refill the reserves with one tap.

Garden life

Kittens, challenges, contracts, calendar — the living part of the game.

Kittens

Kittens prowl around the hive randomly (~150/h). A roughly 10-second window to tap them before they slip away. 70% give Hexagons hexagons (as a % of Hive Value), 30% give Pollen Pollen. ~7.8% are rare/golden kittens (rewards ×4 to ×16). None appear offline.

Random gifts

Every 3 to 8 minutes, a gift appears in the hive. Loot: Hexagons hexagons (% of Hive Value), Pollen Pollen, or a rare boost.

Challenges

60 linear challenges: raise X bees, earn Y Hexagons/sec, catch Z kittens… They never reset. Rewards: Hexagons hexagons (early), Pollen Pollen (mid), Royal Jelly Drops Royal Jelly Drops (late).

Beekeeper's Calendar

A 28-day cycle with progressive rewards. No skipping: you pick up where you left off. One drop of Moon Nectar Moon Nectar per month for the first months; beyond that, Pollen comes in big bundles.

Trophies

5 population tiers × 19 varieties — the main source of Moon Nectar Moon Nectar.

Each honey variety has its own trophies. They unlock by reaching a population threshold on the active variety — independently of challenges. They're one of the main sources of Pollen Pollen and Moon Nectar Moon Nectar in the game.

The 5 tiers

TierBees required
Bronze10 M
Silver50 M
Gold250 M
Platinum1 B
Diamond10 B

The thresholds are the same for every variety; what changes is the difficulty of reaching them depending on the active variety's value.

Rewards — Varieties 1 to 18

TierPollen PollenMoon Nectar Moon Nectar
Bronze1,000
Silver2,500
Gold5,000+1 MN
Platinum10,000+2 MN
Diamondvariable (depends on variety)1 to 5 MN

The Diamond trophies of the earliest varieties (Clover Honey → Lavender Honey) are the most generous in Moon Nectar Moon Nectar (up to 5 MN for Clover Honey Diamond). The following varieties give 1 MN per Diamond + lots of Pollen Pollen.

Moonlit Honey (variety 19)

The final variety has its own reward tiers, paid exclusively in Moon Nectar Moon Nectar:

TierReward
Bronze1 MN
Silver2 MN
Gold3 MN
Platinum5 MN
Diamond10 MN
Trophy total: 103 drops of Moon Nectar Moon Nectar spread across 95 trophies — the overwhelming majority of Moon Nectar you'll earn across the whole game.

Where to find your trophies

Trophies are available from the start of the game — just reach the population threshold on the active variety. No challenge is required to unlock them.

The Trophies screen opens from the Challenges overlay via the "Trophies (X/95)" button, accessible at any time. Once all 60 challenges are done, the button changes appearance (solid gold) — this is purely cosmetic and doesn't change access to the trophies themselves.
